rather 的基本意思是“更喜欢”、“宁愿”。比如：
She would rather stay home than go out.
她宁愿待在家里也不愿出去。
1. 表示“宁愿……也不……”：
I’d rather walk than take the bus.
我宁愿走路也不坐公交车。
2. 表示“稍微”或“有点”（用于否定句）：
It’s rather cold today.
今天有点冷。
3. 在比较中使用，表示“更倾向于……”：
He prefers tea to coffee, but he drinks rather more coffee than tea.
他更喜欢茶而不是咖啡，但他喝的咖啡比茶多。
