Heatstroke is a serious medical condition that occurs when your body overheats, usually as a result of prolonged exposure to or physical exertion in high temperatures.
There are two main types of heatstroke:
1. Classic heatstroke (non-exertional heatstroke) - develops over several days of heat exposure
2. Exertional heatstroke - occurs suddenly due to strenuous activity in hot weather
Symptoms may include high body temperature, altered mental state, nausea, headache, and rapid heartbeat.
